What are the different ways that expedited payments can be received?

One of the most common ways that people can receive early payments of their SSI benefits is by successfully being granted presumptive blindness or disability payments. Since the Disability Determination Service (DDS) can take six months to reach a decision on your application, it is possible for you to receive those payments based on the fact that you have a very high chance of having your application approved.

You may also be able to receive an emergency advance payment if you can show that you are facing a financial emergency. This is to be used in extreme circumstances when you cannot afford basics such as food and shelter.

If you are in an urgent need of SSI benefits, it is possible to do if you can prove that you are eligible beyond reasonable doubt. Make sure to do thorough research and apply it to your individual situation before seeking the benefits from the SSA.
